PRINCE2 ™ is a scalable, flexible project management method, derived from the experience of professional Project Managers and refined over years of use in a wide variety of contexts. It is owned by a stable public authority, the Office of Government Commerce (OGC). The OGC has an on-going commitment to maintaining the currency of the method and the tools that go with it, together with the information, books and manuals used to define the method. Use of the method is free.
PRINCE2 ™ is not only a process model. It also has number of components which define what is needed to make the processes work successfully.
There are three parts to the structure of the method itself:
